Re: [hpoj-devel] HPLIP installation in Suse 9.0
Thanks to Cory Meisch and Joe Piolunek I was able to install the packages needed to install HPLIP except the package libqscintilla.so.3 Can anybody tell me where to find that package libqscintilla.so.3 ? That would be great!! André Joe Piolunek wrote:

BTW I use Suse 9.0 professional. Meanwhile I found three of them, net-snmp-devel is not on the dvd. Do I need net-snmp-devel on my stand-alone machine? Is net-snmp-devel part of net-tools?
cups -devel is ok. For python-devel I need python and python-tk. python was ok. For python-tk I need tix, blt and libBLT24.so tix is ok. blt is ok. libBLT24.so is not on the dvd.
I have no experience with SuSE, but libBLT24 probably is included in the blt package you have.
To see a list of libraries supplied with blt, try: ]$ rpm -q --provides blt
Information about packages and alternate distributions can be found at the rpmfind site. Here is a link to info on the blt RPM. http://rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/suse/9.0/i386/suse/i586/blt-2.4z-75.i586.html
python-xml needs python, but is now ok. For PyQt I need sip-38, libqscintilla.so.3 and libsip.so. sip-38 I could not install because it needs python-devel. libqscintilla.so.3 and libsip.so. are not on the dvd.
The sip v. 3.8 package probably includes libsip.so.
When you need to install a group of RPMs and can't or don't want to figure out which order to install them in, just try to install several at the same time. 'rpm' will then install them in the correct order, provided there is no missing dependency. ]# rpm -ivh package1 package2 package3 (etc.)
It looks like you have the dependencies already satisfied for python-devel, python-tk, and sip. Try installing them again.
libqscintilla probably will be part of an RPM with a name something like "qscintilla". qscintilla doesn't seem to be included in many distributions. If SuSE doesn't provide a qscintilla RPM, then it may be that you have an unofficial PyQt or sip package you are trying to install.
SuSE 9 doesn't appear to include net-snmp.
If you can't find all of the RPMs you need, you should be able to install missing packages from source tarballs.
