[opensuse] Problems with the cpu
Hi there! I'm writing you because I have a problem. I'm new in linux (windows user all my life) I have problems with the CPU. I have a DELL Inspiron 9400 Centrino Duo and use it mostly for internet things Sometimes when I'm using the web broser (firefox) or other simple program the CPUs start runnig at 100% each This causes that everything starts to work very slowly I check the monitoring system and I can't find the problem. When I was using windows this problem didn't happen. Thanks very much for the support Regards, Willie -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Probably Beagle. use YaST to uninstall it if you don't need it. What version of openSUSE are you running? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Open a terminal window and run "top". That'll tell you which process(es) is(are) pegging the cores. It could be beagle, but it could also be flash, acrobat, or a java instance. Rather than guess, I'd be inclined to find out specifically and then deal with that specific issue.
