Cups and Suse 7.2 ... no web interface !
Someone here are using Cups with Suse 7.2 ? My gateway/firewall with Suse_fw_2, for enything else works fine ! No erros or warning msg, the 631 port allready opened in "fw_dev_int" but when I'll try to start setup of printer in the 192.168.1.1:631 the navigator quits by time-out .. no response !! I'm rading the documentation, but until now I can't find anything about what can cause this !! Any guess ??? Fábio Rabelo
Knowing fully well that it's bad list ettiquite, I'm posting this, since the box mentioned above is going for $200 on ebay right now, and it's mine, it's worth a lot more, and I was hoping someone might be interested here, since I currently have suse on it (and have always run suse on it). http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2034452928 2 hours to go. I guess I put it in a bad category.

It's not just poor ettiquite, it's one of the few things explicitly listed in the list info as not allowed: Q3. What is not appropriate content for the list? A3. Commercial postings of any kind, job postings, non-computer/Linux related material. Likewise, discussions about our mailing list policies should be done off the list. Please don't ever do this again. -- -ckm

Perhaps a silly question, but is Apache installed and running? It isn't included in the default install, IIRC. Kevin

Thanks by your attention .. perhaps you can send to me your cupsd.conf file ? Fábio Rabelo

I have Apache instaled, but not running . But the web interface is running now, after an update os cups with the rpm from Suse 8.0 ( my suse is 7.2 ) but now I can't administer anything ! When I try, the autentication box appears, then enter the user "root" with password .. and yhe cups refuse to accept then !!! Then I'll tryed to generate another user um console, and a msg "unable to open password file :Permission denied" apears, but I have allready set permission to ANYONE write in this file ( lppasswd.md5 ) ... Thanks for anything ! Fábio Rabelo
