Hi, gang. I'm trying to change my settings so that certain types of files always open with the same program. For example, I want all .ogg music files to open using XMMS. Or I want all .doc files to open using MS Word (I have crossover/codeweavers) rather than opening in Open Office. I know that if I right click the file's icon and then click "edit file type" it will bring up a screen where I can change that one file to open using the application I desire (by setting the application preference order). But I recall that somewhere on the KMenu there is a place where you can do this and set all files for default opening. Thus I could set all .ogg files to open using XMMS. But I can't find that place on the KMenu to set once for all files. I know it's there -- I've used it before Help! Where is it? Thanks! :o) Gil

You want the MIME-Editor (IIRC, but I stopped using KDE since 1.0 -- FVWM is way better :) -- Thomas Adam __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Shopping - with improved product search http://shopping.yahoo.com

Help! Where is it?
Do you mean: Preferences -> File Browsing -> File Associations Hansen -- Powered by SuSE 8.1pro - KDE 3.0.3 - KMail 1.4.3 At least, try asking smart questions: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html "Computers are like air-conditioners, they stop working properly when you open Windows." - Anon
