Hi all - I'm trying to upgrade from 9.1 to 9.3. I downloaded the network install CD image, burnt it, booted up, started the network install the same way I did with 9.1. The boot image downloads, apparently completely, then I get a rather obscure error like, "...there was an error...". How can I get information at this point to find out what the error is? It happens the same way every time, whether I install direct from ftp.suse.com or if I go http to gatech.edu. Thanks, Tim Grant

Network install and ftp install are not the same. FTP version of 9.3 has not been released yet.

IIRC, there were some files in the ftp site for 9.3 that came from the live DVD version.

Thanks for the info. I'll just upgrade to 9.2 for fun, while I wait :o) On Sat, 2005-05-28 at 13:03, Joe Morris (NTM) wrote:

No. The files that are there are the files that are on the DVD but -not- on the CD's -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge

The ftp install is not yet available. From the bottom of the http://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/9.3/ screen: Additional note: The complete SUSE Linux 9.3 FTP distribution is being worked on and will be made available in this directory. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge
