[opensuse] openSUSE Installation Medium Linux Standard Base lsb-4.0-x.x Inclusion
All in my opinion Linux Standard Base lsb-4.0-X.X should be included on the installation medium and preferably defaulted for installation. I add additional installation medium that contains Google Chrome, Google Music Manager, The Google Talk Plugin and Google Earth and the lack of lsb initially breaks dependencies with some of these. Is there any reason this can not be included as part of the installation medium? Yes, lsb 4 is too old and we can no longer be compliant, see http://lizards.opensuse.org/2014/08/25/lsb-best-effort/ . Thus providing an lsb package on the installation media would be misleading as people might imply that the distribution is LSB compliant, which it is not. We do not know which parts of LSB the Google-* packages require, thus they may install but be broken or may work. Robert I have lsb-4.0-27.1 from Factory installed on openSUSE 13.2 B1 currently to get Google Chrome to install with out complaining. Chrome requires lsb 4.0 or higher. I was able to install and use it initially by breaking the lsb dependency.
