Try logging in as root and from a command prompt (e.g. konsole): # rcapache status If it doesn't respond running, then try # rcapache start The "stty: standard input: Inappropriate ioctl for device" is not an error message, apparently. There are known problems with apache on 8.2 that are being investigated. I can't yet start it easily, but I can use apache2 instead.

HI Thanks for your reponse.
Try logging in as root and from a command prompt (e.g. konsole): # rcapache status
This command returns: Checking for httpd: unused
If it doesn't respond running, then try # rcapache start
This returns: Starting httpd [PHP4 ] failed Hmmm.
Hi Dan! you could check /var/log/messages, /var/log/httpd/error_log and /var/log/httpd/access_log for anything that may be relevant. you could also try: httpd -help to show the httpd options and then httpd -t or httpd -T to run a syntax check on your httpd.conf file. hth's some ... -- michael On Wed, 07 May 2003, Dan Eskildsen wrote:
