This is encouraging for 2 reasons: A) A known comercial SWare development company is Openly Supporting Linux, and B) for people relatively new to Linux, such as myself, this maybe a more viable method for the common user to secure thier Linux box - Ipchains/Iptables gives me headaches. If the common user feels that they can access features on Linux without having to feel as though they would need to take night classes in comp-sci then I'll bet my bottom dollar you'll begin to see more people that are seriously considering making the switch. Also, It's been my observation that when establish SWare companies begin to start to support new technologies such as Linux there's often a cascading effect. Once the CEO's of business and enterprise see that companies with names they know are starting to support new things, they ask, they inqiure, and the marketing departments at the software companies start to seriously consider the market value of supporting these products. You start to hear the sales reps saying - "If the competitions is supporting Linux - Maybe we should look into this? An increasing number of my clients have been asking it we plan to offer any Linux version of our software products!" -----Original Message----- From: Fred A.
