[opensuse] Quicker starting of remote desktops
I currently frequently access remote desktops, using XDMCP. Currently, I have to run Switch User > Start New Session, wait for the login panel to appear, and then click on System >Remote login, before the list of available systems is displayed. Is there any quicker way to get to that list of available systems? tnx jk -- Use OpenOffice.org <http://www.openoffice.org> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

No, nothing there for XDMCP. Just VNC and RDC. -- Use OpenOffice.org <http://www.openoffice.org> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Configure gdm to start two X instances (vt7 and vt8, say) and toggle between them (pick "Configure login manager" from the F10 menu on the gdm login display). Switching vt's still takes a little time though. The problem with that, is I use kdm, not gdm, though I suppose there's similar for kdm. However, once I've got those screen running, how do I connect to the remote systems? Is there not a method of starting a new desktop, in the manner of Remote Login, without going through all the steps? -- Use OpenOffice.org <http://www.openoffice.org> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
