Hi group, My system: SIS530 motherboard udma66 AMDK 6-2 500 mhz Seagate 8.1gig uata66 hdd 64 meg sdram LG 8x 4x 32x re-writer cdrom x52 wintv card (worked first time) pci network card (NE 2000 compatable) Running Suse (suzy) 7.1 I have just had a total motherboard failure (gigabyte 5AA) and have just installed a SIS530 motherboard onboard sound and graphics. I have got the system up and running without too much hastle except the system seems very sluggish. I have also put in /etc/rc.d/rc.local /sbin/hdparm -c 1 /dev/hda but this seems to make no difference to the speed which at present seems to be no better than the AMDK6-2 350 which I used to run. Has any run this motherboard and can you pass along any hints and tips to get it up to speed ie udma66. Clive Chap has Encyclopedia Britanica for sale. 43 volumes. £1,000 or nearest offer. Reason for sale:- just upgraded, he got married and his wife knows everything.
