When I first loaded the system it wouldn't find the usb mouse... so I added modprobe <usb-ohci> to rc.local or wherever, it went in ok because that file is controlled by yast and Suseconfig can pick it up, but as for the rest of the /etc config files, yast seems to be overlooking them, and actually hate to say it, but ignoring them completely.
