SPAM: [OT] command line encoder options
Hi, Not pure SuSE but any help appreciated. Am trying to pass the command line options "-h -V 9" to the abcde ripper and encoder front end (it will concatenate wavs on the fly which is what I want for audio books). The man page implies tht abcde -1 -o mp3:"-h -V 9" Should do the trick but it errors out with unrecognised output format. leave off the "-h -V 9" and all works, but at 128 K TIA F

I don't know which man you read, but in mine it says: -h Get help information. -V Be a bit more verbose. To concatenate the man says to use -W -W [number] Concatenate CDs. It uses the number provided to define a com- ment "CD #" and to modify the numbering of the tracks, starting with "#01". To set bitrate you'd use '-o mp3:"-b nnn"' afaics, see lame(1) It can't be /that/ hard to find this out.. Theo -- Theo v. Now I should be kicked. You were right, these are the correct options to pass on to lame of course (I was looking in the abcde manpage). Forget about what I blabbered. Theo -- Theo v. It turns out that you can add "-h -V 9" to lameopts in abcde.conf but that you cannot add them from the commandline (despite what the abcde manpage suggests).
