SuSE 6.3 (2.2.13) Having just installed a new hard drive, I was planning on moving my current Linux installation (on a smaller disk) to the new drive. However, I have decided to do a fresh install instead. I would like to use reiserfs, but I'm not sure about all that I need to do. I know that 6.3 has support for reiserfs, and there is an rpm on the SuSE ftp site. Is this all I need? What's the step by step process? Well, the ReiserFS support in SuSE Linux 6.3 is not recommended for productive use. This version of ReiserFS did not have the journaling part! I would not recommend you to do that, use SuSE Linux 6.4 instead, if you want to use ReiserFS. Lenz, You are right of course about 6.3 right out of the box, however ReiserFS works just fine with 6.3 (including Journaling) if the patches available from your site are applied and a new CD 1 is created and used for the installation. I have installed ReiserFS on two of my machines few months ago and I am very happy with it (the journaling feature saved my butt few times when I powered my laptop off by mistake...)
