Re: [SLE] Galeon broken after apt upgrade on fresh SuSE 8.1
/opt/gnome/bin/galeon-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libgtkembedmoz.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Add /opt/mozilla/lib to /etc/ld.so.conf and run ldconfig as root Alternatively, the Mozilla packages from www.usr-local-bin.org do this automatically, and are built with GCC 2.95.3 so that Java & Flash work. -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.1). I did that and now I get a different error: /opt/gnome/bin/galeon-bin: relocation error: /opt/gnome/bin/galeon-bin: undefined symbol: begin_assignment__13nsCOMPtr_base
Alternatively, the Mozilla packages from www.usr-local-bin.org do this automatically, and are built with GCC 2.95.3 so that Java & Flash work.
I thought the usr-local-bin packages was part of apt? -- Andre Truter Software Engineer Registered Linux user #185282 ICQ #40935899 AIM: trusoftzaf http://www.trusoft.za.net <-------------------------------------------------> < The box said: Requires Windows 95 or better... > < So I installed Linux > <------------------------------------------------->

I downloaded and installed mozilla from usr-local-bin and now galeon works again. Thanks -- Andre Truter <andre.truter@intekom.co.za>
