I've been working for the last week of so setting up some custom mail services before going live with the server running SuSE 9.2. This evening I tried to log in as root in KDE, but when I did all I got was a YAST screen. Closing the YAST screen logs root out. What happened? I used to get a genuine KDE session that I could actually DO things in. Thanks Rob

What happens if you try to login, from a text console?
Doh! Set the session type to KDE, and it works fine ;) Thanks for the suggestion anyway. Rob Quoting James Knott <james.knott@rogers.com>:

When you login there is a menu button, if you go menu -> session -> admin the PC will login to yast. just choose kde it will remeber the last one you used -- -- Chadley Wilson Production Line Superintendant Pinnacle Micro Manufacturers of Proline Computers ==================================== Exercise freedom, Use LINUX =====================================
