[opensuse] openSUSE forms issue.
After first deleting all my openSUSE and Novell cookies to see if that might solve the problem I keep getting the following error trying to access the openSUSE forums.. "No data received Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data." "Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data." Please do not respond with "It works for me." Are these ongoing issues with access to the forums going to be ever be resolved? Steven -- ____________ Apply appropriate technology. Sorry, that's the only thing I can say.

Come on this project has only 80+ mailing lists. Where else do you get a new list as soon as you cry loud enough? Sorry, here you don't even need to cry. \: More than 80 lists. This project must be quite important! To be honest and IIRC I've said this several times before. We need to cut the amount of lists down and instead push the quality of the postings, replys, and bug reports. Else we'll see more and more fragmentation of the communication and less progress for the project. While I believe the openSUSE FAQs are not that bad. Do we need to promote them better or enhance the quality to get people a bit more focussed? Oh, I'm sorry. This posting I'm sure is directed to the the wrong list. opensuse-project would fit much better and the majority dosn't care nevertheless I fear. :/ Cheers, Lars -- Lars Müller [ˈlaː(r)z ˈmʏlɐ] Samba Team + SUSE Labs SUSE Linux, Maxfeldstraße 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany

you do know, don't you that you can easily have full access to the forums (read _and_ write) without depending on Novell/SUSE/whoever getting the login chain and/or vBulletin fixed, so the problems end... just use nntp, it is fast and effective..(of course, as long as the http folks can't sign in, they can't answer...but, a lot of the help comes from the nntp users anyway).. have a look here: http://forums.opensuse.org/faq.php?faq=novfor#faq_nntp btw, you can _read_ the forums without a login in, and you can have a look at the forum pain in the threads below (the threads are plentiful because the troubles never seem to end! there are others going back years): http://forums.opensuse.org/english/other-forums/forums-feedback/forums-comme... http://forums.opensuse.org/english/other-forums/forums-feedback/476939-re-po... http://forums.opensuse.org/english/other-forums/forums-feedback/forums-comme... http://forums.opensuse.org/english/other-forums/forums-feedback/forums-comme... http://forums.opensuse.org/english/other-forums/forums-feedback/forums-comme... http://forums.opensuse.org/english/other-forums/forums-feedback/forums-comme... http://forums.opensuse.org/english/other-forums/forums-feedback/forums-comme... http://forums.opensuse.org/english/other-forums/forums-feedback/forums-comme... http://forums.opensuse.org/english/other-forums/forums-feedback/forums-comme... etc dd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
