systemsettings -> power management -> energy saving -> fwiw: you have not provided much information, "this setup" and "version of openSUSE" and "laptop/desktop" "type of video" "video driver" -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet oftc

OK you've told us what it does not do. How about telling us what it actually DOES do instead?

You will have to start by telling what desktop you are using, what openSUSE version you are using... Is it a desktop machine or a laptop? Battery status? -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.4 x86_64 at Telcontar)

The fact that it goes to sleep probably means that the Display has entered the energy saving mode according to the DPMS standard. If you run $ xset -q | grep -B 3 DPMS, you will see the following results; DPMS (Display Power Management Signaling): Standby: 310 Suspend: 311 Off: 312 DPMS is Enabled If DPMS is disabled, it will not enter energy saving mode. The command can be written in .bash_profile with; xset s off -dpms Best Regards. --- ┏━━┓彡 野宮 賢 mail-to: nomiya @ lake.dti.ne.jp ┃\/彡 ┗━━┛ "The question of who holds the platform and whether the person or organisation holding it is trustworthy has serious and profound implications in these volatile times. No, his problem is that it no longer sleeps. He has not clarified if it is the entire computer going to sleep, or only the display. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.4 x86_64 at Telcontar)
