[opensuse] turn off touchpad tapping on 11.2 rc2
Has anyone found out how to turn off touchpad tapping on openSuse 11.2 rc2? I'm running on an ASUS eee pc 1000HE. Don't tell me to modify xorg.conf because there isn't one. Hi Hans, I did. The ASUS function key assignments are fn+ f1 zzZ Put the system in suspend mode Works f2 Radio Tower Toggle the wireless LAN Works f3 Touchpad Toggles the touchpad ON/OFF Doesn't work f4 Resolution Adjust the display resolution ? f5 Sun Down Decrease the display brightness Works f6 Sun Up Increase the display brightness Works f7 Crossed Screen Turn off the display backlight Doesn't work f8 LCD/Monitor Toggle internal/external screens ? f9 Task Manager Initiate the Task Manager Doesn't work f10 Crossed Speaker Mute KDE-, Gnome+ f11 Volume down Decrease the speaker volume KDE-, Gnome+ f12 Volume up Increase the speaker volume KDE-, Gnome+ They all work in Windows. I wanted to turn off the tapping on the touchpad but leave the other mouse functions, including scrolling, on. fn+f3 turns off the touchpad completely in Windows Bob -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Bob Hi If you using Gnome it's in the Control Center -> Mouse -> Touchpad Tab. Here you can set/disable these features. It works fine on my 1000HE.

Hi Malcolm, Thanks for the suggestion. I was using KDE. When I installed Gnome, it worked on 11.2 rc2. It would be nice to get it implemented in KDE. I tried turning it off in Gnome and switching to KDE. No luck. The new Gnome screen looks good in 11.2. I'll get used to it. On my Lenovo T61 you turn it off in bios, not the os. -- Bob Smits, bob@rsmits.ca -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The package kcm_touchpad might help. Sven -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
