I am installing SuSE 6.4 CD Edition onto an HP Pavilion 6740C, and having problem getting the network card to work. I have looked through a few howtos and the knowledgebase with obviously not much success. I am hoping that someone on this list can point me to the right direction. Many thanks in advance, and now more details: the machine is Celeron 667 MHz, 69M RAM, and has the followings: - one hard drive, master ide0 - cd drive, master ide1 - two usb ports that are not used - internal modem that is not used - parallel port that is not used yast2 detects the card as Accton Tech. Corp. SMC2-1211TX, and after putting in network IP addresses it comes back with a message that because of a difficulty! the network in not accessible. The driver it picks is rtl8139 (per /etc/modules.conf) that according to www.scyld.com corresponds to EN1207D-TX which is the correct model number for the card (it is actually printed on the card). I tried adding the line options rtl8139 options=0x40 to /etc/modules.conf which did not help. I removed the argument options=0x40. BTW this machine is intended to be used as stand alone task specific development system with no services to offer and one Ethernet connection to LAN. If interested in more details here is machines response to few commands I thought helpful: Following is contents of the file 'report' linux:~ # dmesg 1>> report 2>&1 Linux version 2.2.14 (root@Pentium.suse.de) (gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)) #1 Fri Mar 17 11:59:50 GMT 2000 Detected 664652930 Hz processor.
