Hi,
From time to time people ask for shorewall rpms and for those who like to be on the risky side here are the latest stable shorewall packages.

If you are going to use them use it at your own risk. Please report any problems with the package(s) so I have a chance to fix if I can. Awesome, ill give it a try. Do you intend to eventually move it into an official community opensuse repo? -- Sent from my Nokia N900

The packages are build at build.oepnsuse.org. That means many of the mirrors are also hosting these packages (if the mirror is holding home repositories that is) So I am not sure I understand you correctly what do you mean an official community suse repo. Mirrors can have the package as explained above you can mirror the repos. So what is the actual question Thanks Togan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Togan, The general opensuse advice is to use extreme caution when loading packages from home directories like http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/toganm:... There is no oversight at all of what's in there, so there quality is totally random from the end-user viewpoint. So, in general, once a package is to a point where you want to have it available for public consumption, you should submit it to a devel repo. The devel repo will typically have a default set of maintainers, but as the submitter, you should also be added to your specific project. fyi: To get a package into the main factory repo, it must first be in a devel repo, so the minimal path for a package to get in is: home_repo: => devel_repo => factory_repo => released_repos Greg -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

One can say a similar thing for the Kernel:HEAD or X11:Xorg. The subject of the message says experimental. If one is willing to experiment then will do so regardless of where the package comes from. If one is desperate for shorewall, then the rpm or tar.(gz|bz2) are always accessible from the shorewall website even I did not send the previous mail. Nevertheless, I understand your point of view and concern.

Thanks for the reminder. It is in my TODO, but I should have done that before announcing it my bad. Togan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Part 1 done ;) So the new location is security:netfilter repos http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/security:/netfilter/openSUSE_11.2 http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/security:/netfilter/openSUSE_11.3 http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/security:/netfilter/openSUSE_Facto... Many thanks to Jan for his help to get the packages into security:netfilter repo And for anyone working with spec files, try spec-beautifier available from git://dev.medozas.de/hxtools I do not know when stage 2 (devel_repo => factory_repo) will happen, yet fingers crossed Togan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
