The other day I noticed some rpms of Xfree86 4.02-7(?) for 7.1 on the SuSE ftp site. So I dutifully downloaded them, burned a CD & took 'em home to install. I used Yast1 to install. The Xmodules, Xloader & the glx all installed no prob. - but the main Xfree file (8 megs or so) would not install (it could not find something in the file). I tried again from the console using -force, --nodeps, etc. and it said that the rpm "could not be installed". So I figured I had a bad download & tried to go back to the ftp site & try it again. The directory containing these rpms was GONE. This was all on Friday (3/16). It is now 3/18 & I still can't find the rpms on the ftp site. I must assume they were pulled because the Xfree rpm was broken. What's the status SuSE? Any idea when these updates will return?
