Re: [SLE] WindowMaker 0.63-1 RPMS and SPMS ready for SuSE 7.0, want to upload
Thank you for the offer, Chris, and everyone else who has offered hosting! When I posted my original message I didn't know that the procedure for uploading is quite easy: 1. There's a dropzone, ftp.suse.com:/pub/incoming. Anyone can upload stuff there. 2. You have to submit a mail to upload@suse.com about what you have uploaded. Otherwise it will be deleted. 3. If your'e lucky it will end up in ftp.suse.com:/pub/contrib There's a README.upload file that describes what you need to know. Personally I think SuSe should advertise this better and hand out T-shirt and mascots(for purely selfish reasons) if your upload is approved. Some of the other distros - I hate to say it- are actually better in this respect. Best regards Anders måndag 22 januari 2001 12:11 skrev Chris Reeves:

I've made RPMS and SPMS for WindowMaker 0.63-1. They work for me on my 7.0 system. No guarantee that they should work for anyone else, but no reason why they shouldn't. I've added the SuSE-inspired them Zerosurface as extra eye-candy. I want to share this whith the rest of the SuSe world, but I don't have a site of my own. If anyone wants to host this , please contact me off the list.
I don't know if you can put it into the incoming directory on the SuSE FTP server. You could try, or contact SuSE - I'm sure they accept packages from non-SuSE employees. I think they put them in the contrib directory.
If you don't find anywhere else, I could put them on my site. This would just be a storage place that you could point people to, and I could throw the page at a search engine... The only problem I can see is that my website is *very* low traffic at the moment, considering I've got much more important things on my mind (and more important web sites to work on...). But it's there if you need it ;-)
Bye, Chris
