Hi, I've updated my 8.2 system with KDE 3.1.4 and see what happens.... no antialiasing anymore :-( Does anyone have a clue what this can be? All settings about antialiasing in KDE Control Center aren't changed...

Did you remember to run SuSEconfig afterwards? It will run fonts-config, which may be your problem. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. Has something similar. Some fonts have disappeared, causing them to be replaced by some ugly default font (no aa). Other fonts are still there. If you find a solution (other than reverting to 3.1.1 and upgrading to 3.1.1 again) then please let me know. I'll do the same if I can find the cause.

Just some ideas to try. First, make sure you ran SuSEconfig (which runs fonts-config.) If that doesn't work, make sure you have upgraded qt as well. Should be 3.2. Try runnings fonts-config --force, it does more, i.e. from the man page: -f, --force Force the update of all generated files even if it appears to be unnecessary according to the time stamps. If all that doesn't work, try Control Center and verify Fonts in System Administration, Fonts Installer, and double check what is setup in Appearances and Themes, Fonts. Let us know if this doesn't work. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM.
