Greetz; I am looking for a fake or dummy X server. It doesn't have to do anything in life other than accepts connects for an X application (wine). I've tried running the particular program through wine with the GraphicsDriver=ttydrv but it fails with a bitmap message. Upon review of bugs posted on winehq.org I find that it's currently broken and there doesn't seem to be a rush to resolve. What I need is a daemon that will accept connects like X does without loading X. The particular use of this is simply to allow wine to load and execute a windows service/daemon. Currently my box is doing this by use of a hacked xinit start_wine_daemon script. Needless to say I am eager to reduce the load on the box. Thanks in advance. I think you're looking for the X virtual frame buffer. It's in the xextra rpm, look at "man Xvfb" for details Anders
