2.4.1 Kernel too big error
I used make menuconfig ( took most of the defaults) make dep make clean make bzimage make modules make modules install make bzililo and it stops with an error "kernel too big" -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 2607302 Feb 21 20:25 vmlinux What is the limit for kernel sze or is there a different problem that is giving me this error? I m currenlty using (SuSE 7.0 ) Downloaded kernel source from ftp.kernel.org thanks inadvance, joe
Not sure on its actual size, but you may have integrated too many features into the kernel itself. Try modulising some. Make sure you have modutils 2.4.2 installed before proceeding too... After doing make modules_install try doing make install (that will do the bzlilo for you). Matt On Thu, 22 Feb 2001 01:37:23 joe wrote:
