Hi,
Backups: Any suggestions as to what kind of software I could use for full system backups using a DAT. I'm using SuSE Linux 7.0. Thanks. Tim at UIC
Well, (GNU)tar of coarse.
Yes, indeed tar. Can also be used for full&incremental or full&differential backups (with the `--listed-incremental' option). For fast access during restore use dds2tar. This uses fast-forward/backward to seek the file(s) you want to restore. It was included in SuSE 6.4, so I expect in 7.0 as well. Also check the following URL to see if there is a newer version: http://www.cs.uni-duesseldorf.de/~weule/sfw/eindex.html Paul.
