sr0 Owner: Root Group: cdrecord
OK, sylink /dev/cdrom to /dev/sr0. Now logout and relogin. Does the owner change to your username? If the owner changes, you are all set.
Running 8.2 Pro. Not familiar with resmgr though.
Resmgr is used to change owner of devices automatically when one logs in through x/k/gdm. It takes the place of pam_devperm for earlier versions.
sr0 is (as above) cdrecord ..under /dev? Don't seem to have it. readcd and cdrdao ..same thing, have no record under /dev
No cdrecord, cdread and cdrdao are programs. For you they should be in /usr/bin. The owner should be root and the group is cdrecord. The exec bit must be turned on for the owner and group. They should also be suided. Charles -- There are no threads in a.b.p.erotica, so there's no gain in using a threaded news reader. (Unknown source)
