I have a Samsung ml-1740 which is a gdi mono laser printer which suse 10 does not recognize. However Suse does recognize the ml-1710 which according to Samsung is probably the closest driver to the 1740. I used the 1710 driver successfully with suse 9.1 and others have indicated that they have used it & it works with suse 9.2 & 9.3. With suse 10 I tried both with and w/o local filtering using Yast. The result is `processing' but no printing except after reboot in the case of local filtering. What in cups suse 10 could be that different than 9.x? If anybody has an answer or a new avenue to explore please let me know thanks -- Cheers, Serge

If it is connected via the parallel port, see http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/2005-Nov/1206.html Kind Regards Johannes Meixner -- SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstrasse 5 Mail: jsmeix@suse.de 90409 Nuernberg, Germany WWW: http://www.suse.de/
