Why partition for / , to be bootable, has to be set less than (cyll) 1024? I think other distro doesn't do like this (redhat). So how can i create partitions on my 30 GB, ( contain win2k and suse 7) Can i create a large parttions? Infact now, i can't load lilo. Is there any solution for me? (partition magic may be?) thank you,

<1024 is LiLO requrement to be bootable. Other distro does not offer LiLo. You can create large partitions. either: a) you make sure that the / is among the first 1024 cyls to use LiLo or b) you boot using LOADLiN

Or, create a 5MB to 10MB partition as the very first partition on the hard drive and set it up as /boot. LILO lives in the /boot directory. If you have a separate partition dedicated to /boot as the first partition, you satisfy the <1024 cylinder requirements of LILO. If Win2K is absolutely needs the first partition, you create a 9.5GB partition for Win2K, create a second partition for /boot, and then partition the rest of the drive for / and swap. As long as the /boot partition is under 1024 cylinders (i.e., 10GB, if I recall correctly) you should be OK. Personally, I keep my OSes on separate drives.
