Down the bottom is the Icon with a tiny house, with the mouse over "Home" pops up. Is it possible to have a "root" version? you either plug in your password when click on to it, or each time you go to do anything horrible to the system files. -- From Eric (KMail 1.4.3 in Linux) NO ATTACHMENT WAS SENT WITH THIS EMAIL IF THERE IS ONE IT IS A UNDETECTED VIRUS, IF THERE IS ONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW ....

It is already in the menus someplace (I'm not in KDE right now, so I cant say exactly where.) Probably in Tools (or is it Utilities?). To get it to the toolbare at the bottom, just right-click an empty spot on the toolbar and select add program. This shows you the normal KDE menu, and there you simply look for the item labeled 'Root filemanager' or Root konqueror' or something similar and click it. Now you should have the icon on your toolbar. Regards Ole

It's already there... under the main "suse" menu, select "system -> confuguration -> file manager - Super User Mode" If you want this as a taskbar button, right click on a clear area of the taskbar and chase down the "Add / button..." tree until you find the same menu item Aklternatively, once you've clicked on the "home" icon and brought up the file manager, the red folder looking icon to the left side takes you to / -- you'll still be restricted as your "ordinary" user (meaning you can't "browse" any folders with a lock icon on them), but for the most part you CAN browse a good portion of the system without doing anything "dangerous"
