Hi James, I have a Perfection 1250 didn't try it since the install of 12.3. After your post I was curious and I tried. It didn't work. yast recognizes the scanner and installs it, but xsane won't find the device. sane-find-scanner says the following: # sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the # result is different from what you expected, first make sure your # scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer. # No SCSI scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that # you have loaded a kernel SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter. could not open USB device 0x057c/0x5601 at 001:003: Access denied (insufficient permissions) found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8 [EPSON], product=0x010f [EPSON Scanner 010F]) at libusb:002:003 could not open USB device 0x046d/0xc52e at 002:002: Access denied (insufficient permissions) could not open USB device 0x1d6b/0x0002 at 001:001: Access denied (insufficient permissions) could not open USB device 0x1d6b/0x0001 at 002:001: Access denied (insufficient permissions) could not open USB device 0x1d6b/0x0001 at 003:001: Access denied (insufficient permissions) could not open USB device 0x1d6b/0x0001 at 004:001: Access denied (insufficient permissions) # Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. Hi, FYI, my problem is solved, it was the console version of yast which is not installing the scanner properly. I did it again with the GUI version. This did the job. The scanner works now. Karl Am 26.03.2013 19:29, schrieb Karl Sinn:

done, but will not be surprised if nothing will happen ;) https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=811842 btw: why doesn't bugzilla show me all my reported bugs when I click on "my reports"? I filed another bug recently and can't find it with the search... Karl

Try "All my reports" instead. The "My reports" only shows those that are opened or pending action. Also, you can change your settings so that you get an email for all additions to a bugzilla, even your own report. By default you don't get an email for your initial report, whereas I prefer to have it. That way I can go to the folder where I can see all the bugzilla entries where I intervened. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. Drop list, not button :-) The default text shows "--Bugzilla--"; drop list at the right-top corner. There is another one below that reads "--Testopia--": not this one. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. this drop list shows two options: my reports | my bugs They do the same as the links with the same names close to the bottom of the page. Why don't I have the option "all my reports"? Ah! My mistake. I forgot that it is a customization of mine. I created that filter. Preferences section, "saved searches". I don't remember now how you create and save a search; I think you go to "search", then "advanced search", adjust it, then somewhere there should be a button to save it with a name. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. I ran into a weird issue yesterday with my Perfection 1660 scanner on 12.2 - it was recognized in YaST, but it wouldn't configure. Running "scanimage -L" said it wasn't found. On a lark, I removed it from the powered hub and plugged it directly into a USB port on the system, and it worked fine - the hub was interfering with it somehow. If you're using an external hub, try plugging it in directly. I could've sworn it was plugged into that hub before (on 11.4 and 12.1), but as I was reorganizing my office and realized that I needed to scan something (and had unplugged the scanner), I'm now not sure where I had it plugged in before the shuffle started. While I am going through a hub, it's the exact same port as I've been using for years. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
