I used yast2 but I didn't find any plasma monitor configuration
My EPIA platform has a S-video output (on the video card) but no TV card
May I use yast2 for this configuration or should I make hand change to xorg config file (PAL, device etc )?

Doesn't a Plasma screen generally need a separate tuner box? Which would possibly mean it needed a proper tv tuner card? Are you sure ? This could be a bad, very bad news ... Where can I verify this ? My plasma is a old Panasonic TH-42PWD6 It has S-Video AND VGA Input and support a few resolution PC and 852x480 (but seems not pal 720x568) TIA ES.

I heard this the other day on the radio. A tv expert was giving advice to listeners. Someobdy rang in about getting a plasma screen tv set up. They couldn't tune it and the 'expert' mentioned that it should have a separate tuner box. He seemed to intimate that all plasma tv's were like this. He could have been wrong or I could easily have misheard. I don't have personal experience of a plasma screen simply because of their relatively short life span compared to both CRT or LCD. Too much money for too little usage time. I tend to expect a tv to last for about 10 years not 3 or 4. -- ============================================== I am only human, please forgive me if I make a mistake it is not deliberate. ============================================== Take care this Xmas. Look around the internet. What I've seen (technical details are sparse) seems to confirm this. On the specification pages that say something about accepted inputs what is listed are NTSC, PAL and SECAM. Those are video inputs formats, not RF signals. The good news is that you can use it as a TV monitor anywhere in the world. I think you've got a big video-oriented monitor (that also does VGA), not what would in days gone by be referred to as a "television."

If it had only antennae and/or cable inputs, you'd need a separate tuner. If it has inputs compatible with your PC's output (VGA, S-video, DVI, etc) then you don't need a tuner.
