In Suse 8.2 as long as XF86Config was setup correctly <ctrl><alt> - or + would change the screen resolution. In 9.1 they dont work. is this left out of x.org?? is there a new command. A related question: how does one get back the ability to kill X with <ctrl><alt><backspace>? Henry Harpending

They work for me. In /etc/X11/XF86Config, have you more than one mode listed against Modes in Subsection "Display" of Section "Screen"? If not, then you won't be able to change screen size unless you add some modes, say "800x600" "640x480". -- JDL

You need mode lines for each resolution. Have you tried Sax2 and
configured at a bunch of resolutions?

Just found out why its the keypad + or - which must be used. I guess it pays to read most all posts rather than sticking to a few threads. CWSIV
