[SLE] Suse 6.3 <> Suse 6.4, VMWARE
Hello, Linux masters: Some questions Q1: What is the most difference between Suse 6.3 and 6.4 (w.o. some bugfixes of course) ? Is it recommended to upgrade a system? I have the downloaded 6.4 version written to a bootable CDROM. How to upgrade to most easier? Q2: Is Suse 6.4 runs in an IBM Thinkpad notebook (760EL, 2 Gb HDD, 2 mb video, CDROM, 32 MB RAM, IP133)?. Might it will be too slow? I would like to use only some Staroffice applications, no extra. It is possible to install Suse in text mode instead of yast (which requires 48 MB RAM)? Q3: In the same machine will VMWARE run more faster if i upgrade 128 MB RAM to 256 MB? (under Suse 6.3) Gabor Kallai scar@scar.hu -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq

SuSE 6.4 includes package updates, bug fixes, an improved Yast, and support for some usb hardware. If you already have 6.3 up and running, then there really is no reason to upgrade (unless you want to :-)). If you are installing for the first time, then by all means go for the latest version.
