[SLE] Media Check OK, but not OK when installing
Hi all, Has anyone come across this? I downloaded the ISO files of Suse 10.1, and did md5sum on them and the result was OK. Then I burnt them on CD, did a media check, and the result was OK. But, when I tried to install php-gd on CD5, it said that the package failed integrity check. The first check is a MEDIA check - it checks the md5 (or similar) of your CD. The second is a PACKAGE integrity check. Any given package on the media can fail without the media being bad. -- ----- stephan@s11n.net http://s11n.net "...pleasure is a grace and is not obedient to the commands of the will." -- Alan W. It's entirely possible the package was corrupt from the start. When the CD images are checked, they will be OK, so long as the copies haven't been corrupted. A media check does not protect against something that was already bad, when the image was created. -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
