When I'm in Windows98 and don't feel like a reboot into Linux, I use Explore2fs ( http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/explore2fs.htm ). I can view log files easy with this tool. I can also copy files that I downloaded from the internet using Linux using Explore2fs.
