Install hplip 3.21.4 files from;
https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Printing/openSUSE_Leap_15.3/
Then, you can find the 'DeskJet 2700 series' via YaST.
Regars, I'm sure you mean well, but I don't see anything downloadable there, in spite of what it says. Please clarify! --doug
It is actually in the hplip-hpijs package. The ppd file lives at /usr/share/cups/model/manufacturer-PPDs/hplip/hp-deskjet_2700_series.ppd.gz. Install the packages hplip and hplip-hpijs with YaST Software Management, then run the HP Device Manager from the KDE menu. Under Device use Setup Device, choose which method based on whether you have it connected via USB or wireless (if you use wireless, make sure that there is a dhcp address available from your router). --dg

And btw, note that the driver is labeled "2700 /Series/". It is common that the same driver is used for a range of printers. If you looked specifically from a printer in that range, e.g., 2755, you will not find it. This is the definitive website listing all 3000+ linux drivers that HP provides: https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/supported_devices/in... --dg

--dg I thank all of you who so generously chimed in. I never got the thing to work in Linux, and I decided I don't like it anyway. It doesn't duplex, and the source paper sits out in the open above the back of the machine. (I should have realized from the pictures of it that it didn't have room for paper inside. There is a photo on https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-deskjet-2755e-all-in-one-printer that clearly shows and labels the "USB 2.0 port (for connection to PC)" on the back of the printer, so if your printer doesn't have one, it suggests you may have a different model, or a fake. I suggest enquiring wherever you bought it. PS please DO NOT send me an individual reply. Keep it on the list.

I will be darned! It was covered up with a little tag the same color as the case. I'll still donate it, but I may use it for a little while if I can get it recognized. I have a refurb replacement coming, the same model as the one that the lightning blew up. Thanx, Stephen! PS: You just saved me $100!
