[opensuse] Language issues
Hi My girlfriend switches her keyboard between Thai and English (gb) and that seems to work find for typing etc. Its the only log in where we have keyboard switching. Whether the keyboard is set to "gb" or "th" the menus and applications such as "system settings" display a mix of languages (see attachment) - is there anything i can do about this ? I would prefer the language of the apps, menus etc to match the keyboard in full, especially the "gb" setting to be all English - i can't read Thai script. regards Ian

I had a problem that sounds similar: After installing an English 11.4 from the KDE LiveCD, I tried to switch it to German. Then, there was a mix of German and English in KDE. The netbook workspace was almost completely untranslated (i.e., English). The same held true for the KDE Personal Settings (or, system settings). Running "kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental" as the affected user fixed the language mix for me. Gruß Jan I can understand that there may be missing bits of translation but i would hope that the system should revert fully to the language required. unfortunately the kbuildsycoca4 didn't make any difference to the mixed language. :o( I can't select Locale in System Setting either, it just crashes out.

So set up a new user, with your gf's name, so you can remove the Thai from your user.
