Opensuse 11 x86 64 with kde 4. I just got 2 hp w2207h flat panel monitors and installed one for now onto an existing install. 1 thing right off the bat, sax does not list this monitor; so is there a way to get this monitor "noticed" by sax, or a monitor i should select in sax. right now it is on nec lcd1525v. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

No.....do a "custom" install, giving the specs of the monitor from the manual. OK. My flat panel was recognized, but it is connected to standard VGA output, not DVI. What tells: hwinfo --monitor You have to run that as root. -- Regards, Rajko http://en.opensuse.org/Portal needs helpful hands. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

hwinfo --monitor
You have to run that as root.
No, not root, but it required the path, /usr/sbin/hwinfo, or you need to add /usr/sbin to your PATH. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The output of command is different. Checked that. In my case it gives useless report. -- Regards, Rajko http://en.opensuse.org/Portal needs helpful hands. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

monitor -> "lcd" -> "1680 x 1050 @ 60 hz" works fine here. Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yes, that works fine but what i am asking and looking for is the complete driver (so you can rotate the monitor and rotate the desktop from landscape to portrait) not just the 1680x1050 and hz. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
