It depends on the SCSI chip inside the scanner. I have a scanport SQ300 w/ a OnSpec 90c26 SCSI chip inside. I can get the scanner to work in Kooka as a Microtek/Mustek? Slimscan only in prescan mode. Every time I do a normal scan it just spits out a black image. For now I can use the prescan image as Kooka saves it as a image. However, later I am going to sell this scanner and get me a nice Epson Perfection SCSI model. Hope this helps.
