have you installed kernel-source by Yast?

This error is normal because the Module.symvers file is never created under /usr/src/linux where it is looked for. The simple fix is to copy the file from /usr/src/linux-<version>/i386/smp/Module.symvers to /usr/src/linux. Why this file is not provided where it is looked for by third party programs does not make sense. I know that VMware also looks for this file. I am also using the SMP kernel. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998

Good point. Except that /usr/src/linux points to /usr/src/linux-2.6.11.4-21.9 . So if it's in one, it should be in the other.

As am I.. I sent another message with the complete instructions from the earlier ati driver versions, and I used the same info with this new one. So far it's working although I don't really push it that much. There's your mistake.. Switch to /usr/src/linux make cloneconfig make prepare-all Then switch to /usr/src/kernel-modules/fglrx run KERNEL_SOURCE=/usr/src/linux make module KERNEL_SOURCE=/usr/src/linux make install depmod -a If for some reason, it doesn't put the module in /lib/modules/kernel/your.kernel.version/kernel/drivers/video copy the fglrx.ko over to this directory and run depmod -a If you need it, I've got the old directions from the 8.12.xx version that describe this. In /usr/X11R6... i don't have nothing about sax. I have in /usr/share/sax. IIs it same? Thanks.
I think that you have used YOU to update your kernel, but your kernel-source have not upgrade.so that you can not compile fglrx kernel module

Yes, but than i downgrade kernel to 2.6.13-8-smp and source is the same and problem is here still. On 9.3 i didn't try because old drivers works.
