[opensuse] Wine problem
Dear All,
From time to time I would need to run a clever software under linux to avoid reboot into windows. The software in question runs "nearly" fine with wine, but only nearly. Selection of so called data blocks arranged in rows and columns is not working with the left mouse button. Instead, only a whole row can be selected - as one would expect from the colour of the data blocks, but actually only the upper left one gets selected (because only its content is displayed on the screen).
Staritng from command line I get the following two lines: fixme:storage:StgCreateDocfile Storage share mode not implemented. fixme:storage:StgCreateDocfile Transacted mode not implemented. fixme:commdlg:GetFileName95 Flags 0x00800000 not yet implemented The third line is added when I try to select data blocks with the mouse. Are there any ideas of a workaround? BTW, is it possible that there is no mail in this list in the last 24 hours, or the fault is on my side? What version of wine are you using? If not the most recent available from winehq, then the first thing to do is try that version: http://www.winehq.org/ http://www.winehq.org/download http://en.opensuse.org/Wine#Repositories (wine is updated very frequently) If that doesn't fix the problem, try the wine forums, after checking that you've read all the FAQs, wiki, application database etc, http://www.winehq.org/help/ http://forum.winehq.org/ Cheers, Dave -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Though the FAQ says,I should not bother with "fixme" messages, in my case it means that the software is not usable (yet). Thanks for the tip, anyway, cause it led me to install the latest version Albert -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Well, the obvious solution would be to install Windows in a virtual machine. You could also take a look at ReactOS, a light weight OS similar in functionality to Windows

Yes, me too I haven't received mails in the last 24hrs from this list. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Do you have som experience with ReactOS? I read it is still in the alpha phase and will stay in that state for a while. But it possibly would worth trying it. Regards, Albert -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I have tried ReactOS, but I haven't installed Windows software on it. Better try in their forum for this issue. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
