This concerns a laptop operating under SuSE 9.1. If, after I have already booted up the laptop, I connect it's built-in ethernet card to a network, how do I activate the connection? Thank you, dj tuchler

If you haven't configured it to start automatically, you can issue the command ifup eth0 to start it.

Thanks,. I have it set up to start automatically, using DHCP to get an address. The problem is that I have to reboot to get the system to recognize that the ethernet card is plugged in! Thanks again dennis tuchler
