[SLE] SuSE 6.4 Customizations
Good Morning: I'm trying to find out if anyone has modified the installation of SuSE 6.4. let me try to illustrate what I'm talking about. I downloaded the SuSE 6.4 tree. All of the folders are set up exactly as they appeared on the web site. I went through to make sure permissions were correct to. To test that everything was correct, I created the bootdisk from the image that I downloaded in the disks directory, and did a full install of SuSE 6.4. It worked beautifully. Now, what I would like to be able to do is to download the updates from the SuSE ftp site, swap out the files that those are replacing, and then be able to do a clean install from all patched RPMs. I also have one or two RPMs that I created myself, one being for apache-1.3.12+mod_ssl that I would like to be able to include in the file list when I run Yast. Has anyone done this? If so, could we swap emails back and forth discussing what needed to be done? My eventual goal would be to get everything prepared on the hard drive, and then create the CDs from the set up on the hard drive, so I could take my custom SuSE set up and install it on another machine. I'd like to write a document detailing the steps necessary to do this, and explain what is going on at each phase. Creating the iso and burning the CDs to a blank are trivial matters. The part I need help with is setting up the tree correctly so that everything jives. Looking forward to any help :) - Mike -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
