Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] New in 5.3
Fred, Fair enough. Strange how you could have just let it dropped too. But instead you singled out on every message that implied they might be decent to ensure that YOUR opinion was heard. You didn't have an issue then. I wasn't looking for a debate. Just thought you comments toward some of the inputs went beyond just your experience; "your alone then" comes to mind. And you know something, I agree entirely about this not being the list for a lot of these type issues. But that seems to be acceptable here. And if you ever noticed, I rarely respond to keep them going. You have a lot of good stuff to say. So just when someone disagrees (and I don't think mine was attacking) take it for that, someone else voicing their opinion, just as you did. Now I will gracefully bow out. Amazes me how quick some jump on others. j -----Original Message----- From: Fred A. Miller <fmiller@lightlink.com>
Then don't. Look, I'd like to see some GOOD competition to Intel. I'm not going to get into a debate nor discussion as to what Intel has done to keep AMD or anyone else from providing good compatible processors....this is NOT the list for it. If they work well for you, fine, use them! I've had "bad luck" with them and am not interested. My response may have been terse, but it's because the whole argument has gone on, and on, and on, and on elsewhere.....I do NOT want to see it here, and I doubt anyone else does either.
Fred

I always have been an instigator. I guess I realized this sort of thing would develop when I posted the comment "AMD cpus suck.". Hehe, /me goes back to working on my social skills ;) punt wrote:

Especially, since it doesn't take much to get people going. Are you following the 'is it politically correct for the penguin to hold a bear in kernel logo" thread ? Jeez. On Sun, 26 Jul 1998, Michael Lankton wrote:

That argument has been going on in one form or another for months, maybe more. Last time I paid attention, the argument was whether there should be a boot logo at all, and it was a heated argument at that. I'm a recovering alcoholic with three years of sobriety, and if the beer drinking penguin doesn't bother me, it shouldn't bother anyone (with the exception of linux using muslims perhaps). people take everything so seriously ;) -- ==================================================================== Michael Lankton <A HREF="http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org"><A HREF="http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org</A">http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org</A</A>> ==================================================================== - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

[snip] No.....we can continue it privately...it simply is taking up too much bandwidth. Fred -- Fred A. Miller, Systems Administrator Cornell Univ.
