Google leads me to believe there's a channel #SuSE on FreeNode. http://searchirc.com/search.php?F=partial&N=59&M=min&C=1&D=color&T=both&PER=15&I=SuSE&Submit.x=0&Submit.y=0 From that page: 1. irc:// #suse Established Freshness factor: 99.5 Users: Current: 121, Avg: 120, Max: 154 Network: freenode Review: There are no reviews of this channel Topic: Welcome to #SUSE | 9.2 FTP Version is there! Enter irc://freenode/#suse in the Mozilla urlbar, and Chatzilla will take you right there. -- "The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18 NIV Team OS/2 ** Reg. I get an irc is not a registered protocol error.
I think that's the message you get when you fail to install all of Mozilla, which is the typical behavior of Linux installation programs. You can update to or install the latest Chatzilla version quite easily using the xpi from http://hacksrus.com/~ginda/chatzilla/ -- "The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18 NIV Team OS/2 ** Reg. Yes, it's the vanilla install of Mozilla, I'll have a look at the extension later. Thanks Felix.

There's tons of IRC software for Linux. There are seven entries in my KDE -> Internet -> Chat sub-menu, most of which support the IRC protocol. Take your pick. I'm partial to Gaim, myself. Randall Schulz

I was using x-chat last night, and did find the suse channel, and then went on one I hadn't been in ages. I'll probably look for the chat-zilla and see how it looks and how easy it is to use. Mrs. does on occasion chat with her Republic Of Pemberley pals, and doesn't care for what she's been using, so has used their on-line html based chat program, but says it tends to be slow and throw folks off of the channel.
