[opensuse] newbie to xen virtualization / pciback or possible to pass device node (character special?)
Hello, I am new to virtualization at all, and just created first vm using xen. Someone have good tips/guides for administration (creation was not an issue using yast..)? and I did not find out by searching the web, if it is possible to pass a character-special device (in my case /dev/capi20) to a client machine (like using chroot and bind...), or is pciback the only possibility? thank you and sorry for disturbance :) Paul -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

There isn't really much to say. Once you have a xen guest running, admin is much the same as with a physical machine.

I have not had the need to do this, but I believe it is called "xen passthrough". https://wiki.xenproject.org/wiki/Xen_PCI_Passthrough BTW, see as you are dabbling with ISDN, I have a few cards we no longer use - Eicom, Junghanns (4-port), usw. (ISDN was phased out last year). -- Per Jessen, Zürich (3.6°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

i thought more about config at hosting machine.. but it seems not to be so hard.. simple configuration files, and xl commands...

yes i got it working, including CAPI

Yes, these could be interesting. I aimed to get ISDN working in a recent asterisk version, but failed with my AVM C2.. that's why I installed a vm to run old asterisk1_8 with chan_capi. Can you send me details/offer directly? Thank you Paul -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
