Hard drive spindown...how?
At one point I found how to set my hard drive to spin down after xx minutes. But I had to do it everytime I rebooted. I leave my home machine on 24/7. So thru the night and during the day no one uses it. What do I set to have the hard drives spin down after 2 hrs? Thanks, Tom

Use the -S option in hdparm. Please take a look at the manpage for the time format. You can put the command in you boot.local to run it every time you reboot. Charles -- "By golly, I'm beginning to think Linux really *is* the best thing since sliced bread." (By Vance Petree, Virginia Power)
