I tried to run openSUSE as the only OS, but no-go. I still need Windows Games. This is very dependent upon your needs. Yeah some of the digital cameras like the c100 Kodak series are not yet covered by Gphoto2 so your stuck with that or a card reader. Then there are good cameras like the Pentax K200D.
