When using LILO, what is 'resume=/dev/sda1'? I have the root and boot partitions on /dev/hda.
resume is a kernel parameter that tells Linux where to store the current state when told to suspend operation. If you're not using suspend/ resume, you can safely remove it.
Also noticed that the Memtest selection didn't appear. How do I get it loaded in LILO?
Is the software installed? If you've selected the software for install, the LILO entry should turn up automagically. Otherwise it's just: image = /boot/memtest.bin label = memtest86 ~~ Hello Per Jessen, Thank you for the detailed explanation. I now understand what LILO is doing. Many thanks for your insightful help. ~James
